20 Under 40 celebrates a select group of outstanding professionals under the age of 40 who are making a significant impact in their industries or businesses, demonstrating exceptional leadership, and contributing to the community in some capacity. Each year, this prestigious selection process and honor highlight the best of the best in Columbia — those shaping the future through exemplary dedication and commitment to their employees, co-workers, employers, and community.

Nomination Guidelines:

You may nominate multiple individuals, but each nomination must be submitted separately.
Nominees must be 40 or younger as of December 31, 2026.
Multiple nominations for the same person will not increase their chances of selection.

How Winners Are Chosen:

Unlike a public vote, the selection process is rigorous and impartial. Three independent committees carefully review all nominations to identify 40 finalists and ultimately award 20 honorees who truly stand out. The third committee in that group is an ad hoc committee of retired Columbia CEOs.
