In COMO Business Times’ previous iteration as a monthly magazine, this would be “press week,” meaning the last couple of weeks leading up to this pivotal part of the cycle would have been full of deadline angst and handwringing over slow laptops and PCs and the wonky software that is necessary to bring the magazine to life.
Now that we are in a new bimonthly, every-other-month print cycle, life has gotten much, much … busier. (Thought I was going to slow “slower,” didn’t you?)
For instance? The last few weeks had me hopping from event to event and place to place as I tried to keep pace with the break-neck ribbon-cutting pace of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, as well as (take a big deep breath here ‘cause it’s a long list) tending to my role as a member of the Columbia 1 Million Cups organizing committee; accompanying a hundred or more Columbia Public Schools fourth graders on a field trip to the Missouri River with Missouri River Relief at Cooper’s Landing; attending a Columbia Hospitality Association monthly meeting to hear about human trafficking; sweltering with a few dozen other folks to hear RedbudVC founder co-host a panel, “Venture Capital for the Rest of Us,” as the unofficial kickoff for Main Street Summit; and then the speaker- and info-packed Main Street Summit that took over downtown Columbia for two and a half days last week.
Want more? Oh, there’s more.
