Annette Bealmear

Real Estate Sales Manager/AVP, First National Bank – Age: 34

After Annette Bealmear graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1995, sticking around town was not on the agenda. Over the next seven years, she worked in Jefferson City as an auditor for Ford Motor Credit Company; in Overland Park, Kan., as a customer service supervisor for Ford; and in Sedalia as an assistant vice president in real estate lending for the Community Bank of Pettis County, before coming back to good old Tiger Town.
After falling into real estate lending in 1998, Bealmear joined First National Bank and Trust Company in 2002 as an assistant vice president in real estate lending. She then was promoted to real estate sales manager, her current position, last year.
When she’s not on the job, Bealmear enjoys spending time with her 4-year-old daughter, Payton, going to her parents’ house at the Lake of the Ozarks, water skiing and swimming.
Bealmear has been a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Columbia Board of Realtors and the Women’s Network since 2002. She also participates in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce as a steering committee member for the Business Conference and Showcase Committee, a graduate of the Leadership Columbia class of 2005, co-chair of Leadership Columbia 2006, proponent of the Total Resource Campaign, chamber ambassador and co-chair of the 2008 Business Conference and Showcase.
Bealmear would like to increase her attendance at Columbia Public Schools board meetings to ensure that attracting quality teaching is a top priority for the community.
“As a community, we need to ensure that teachers’ salary compensations are comparable to other communities’ to help solidify the best-qualified educators for our community,” said Bealmear. “I feel that our educators have one of the most important jobs in our country today. We put so much value and trust in how they educate our children into becoming our future leaders of tomorrow.”
