Relationship Manager, Boone County National Bank – Age: 37
Since earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sarah Kurre has taken the Columbia career circuit by storm. Starting out at the Columbia Daily Tribune in 1992 as an advertising coordinator/representative, she moved on to a position as marketing executive for The ADD Sheet in 1994.
A year later Kurre took a job with the University of Missouri-Columbia as marketing and promotions director/marketing manager and then served in corporate relations and as development officer for the College of Business until 2006, when she started her current position at Boone County National Bank.
Kurre is active in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee and Women’s Network. She is a member of the Cosmopolitan International Columbia Luncheon Club, the Missouri United Methodist Communications Committee, the Salvation Army Advisory Board and Public Relations Committee, the United Way Marketing Committee, and the United Way Planned Giving and Endowment Committee.
“I encourage engagement in organizations that strive to make a positive impact on the quality of life for all Columbians. There are so many in need right here in our own beautiful backyard,” said Kurre. “Columbia is blessed to have thousands of volunteers and donors to support the many exceptional organizations equipped to help those in need, but I believe we could and should all step up and pull together to support those in need for the betterment of Columbia.”
Kurre and her husband, Charlie, an artist and co-owner of the downtown burger joint Booche’s, have a 10-year-old son, Theo. The family enjoys golfing, camping, floating, Cardinals baseball, biking the Katy Trail and barbequing with friends.
Kurre and Theo refuse to walk past litter without picking it up and would like to encourage others to do the same for the beautification of our city.
