Bob Hull

Retail Banking Officer/Small Business Banking Specialist, Commerce Bank – Age: 33

A St. Louis native, Bob Hull moved to Columbia to pursue a degree in economics at the University of Missouri and decided to stick around town. In 2000, after spending two years as a government accounts officer for Central Bank in Jefferson City, he served as assistant director of career services-MBA corporate relations for the University of Missouri’s College of Business, where he also earned a master’s degree in business administration.
In 2005 Hull accepted his current position at Commerce Bank, where he works as the retail banking officer and small-business banking specialist for 18 branches across Central Missouri.
Hull and his wife, Angie, a lobbyist for the Missouri State Teachers Association, are the proud owners of a 5-year-old collie named Sasha. Hull is a baseball fan and enjoys playing softball, participating in outdoor activities, attempting to improve his golf game and spending time with friends and family.
Hull, a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, is a contributor to the Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Committee and has served as team captain for the Total Resource Campaigns. He also participates in United Way’s Small Business Campaign Team, the Downtown Optimist Club and MU’s P.L.A.N. mentoring program.
“As our community grows, we are faced with new challenges and also new opportunities,” said Hull. “One of the great things about Columbia is the diversity of the people and ideas. In order for Columbia to continue to improve, we need to work together as a community by focusing on our shared goals and finding ways to compromise on our differences.”
Hull is a regular speaker for the University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s FastTrac class and volunteers for Missouri Business Week, an interactive summer conference for high school students sponsored by the MU College of Business and the Center for Education & Private Enterprise in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Education.
