Big Tree Adds 2 Family Nurse Practitioners

Big Tree FNPs Calla Wood and Larissa O'Keefe

Big Tree CoMo has added two new female providers. Calla Wood and Larissa O’Keefe are both family nurse practitioners.

Wood is already known in Columbia for her GYN skills, Big Tree COO and co-founder Jen Wheeler said in a news release. With Wood on staff, Big Tree can now put in IUDs and Nexplanons, as well as perform biopsies and related services. Wood is also available to see patients for primary care, weight loss, urgent care, and other health matters.

O’Keefe will be part of Little Tree Pediatrics but can still see kids or adults. She will also see all of Dr. Adam Wheeler’s patients with him, and O’Keefe will also help him with paperwork to free him up to see patients and do more administrative work.

Wood and O’Keefe join Dr. Pavel Svintozelsky, Ashlee Parkes, FNP, Isaac Dodson, PA, Lauren Mueller FNP, Dr. Scott McRae, Dr. Bonni Heithold, and Dr. Wheeler at Big Tree CoMo. To schedule with Calla or Larissa, text or call the office at 573-814-1170.

In other Big Tree developments, the Big Tree pharmacy has added a new dye-free flavoring system with 12 flavors. In addition, Big Tree members can pick up their free medications from the Summer’s Pharmacy in Sedalia.

“Summer’s has other locations but wants to see how popular it is in Sedalia before adding their other locations,” Wheeler said in the news release. She added that ACA Compounding Pharmacy has announced it is closing. “We have found several other replacement compounding pharmacies and will continue to tell you the most affordable ones we have found.”

The news release also announced that Big Tree, a membership-based, direct primary care organization, will soon be opening a location in Branson, with more details to come.

“With Big Tree we are always adding services for our members so we have some exciting new things to share soon,” Wheeler said.
